Volunteer
Word Street needs volunteers to work at our North Street home base, as well as at our portable locations: The Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield High School, Reid Middle School, and Lee Middle School. Volunteers are entitled to a membership rate of $25/year and all of the benefits of a regular membership. Volunteers are Word Street's greatest asset, and we show our gratitude to them regularly. To become a volunteer, please take a minute to fill out our volunteer form.
Subscriber
Drop-in tutoring and writing workshops will always be free for students 8-18 and others who qualify. Word Street will also offer subscriptions to adults who love to read and write and are interested in becoming a part of a supportive and professional writing community.
Subscribers are entitled to
- access to our writing facility and library after drop-in hours
- FREE on-site drop-in writing instruction periodically
- one free Word Street Workshop course
- Write Match, a Word Street service that puts independent writers in contact with those who share common literary interests with the hopes of creating independent writers' groups.

We're opening a live location on North Street in May 2004. Word Street will also operate in three other locations then. We're portable.
